To launch the Laing Art Gallery's new exhibition ‘With These Hands' opening in May 2025 we’d like to invite teachers to a free preview event to see the exhibition and a talk delivered by the learning team about how to use it with young people, as well as the learning programme we'll be offering alongside the exhibition.  

This exhibition explores the representation of craft in paintings, drawings and prints from 1750 to the present day. As part of the Learning programme, we have developed a workshop to compliment this exhibition. In the workshop, we will explore the paintings and objects on display, the process of making and mending by hand, and will look at how we use hand making, craft and art to promote wellbeing and self-expression.

This will also be followed by a Craft CPD session at the gallery.
