PLEASE NOTE: This session does not include a practical art activity. 

Study Sessions at the Laing Art Gallery are designed to help students explore the collection and highlight themes and topics through lively discussion and debate. A session with us can extend classroom work through gallery focused discussion, and through exploring key pieces and artists in our collection.

Key artworks include:
Paul Noble installation, Turner Prize 2012 nominee

18th and 19th Century collection landscapes and portraiture including artists such as William Holman Hunt, Joshua Reynolds, John Martin, Gaugin and Daniel Maclise.

Northern Spirit gallery focus with key works by John Charlton and Lizzie Rowe.
