What is Articulate: Primary

Articulate: Primary uses learning strategies to support development of oracy, communication and literacy skills. We use a variety of visual literacy and philosophical enquiry techniques devised to encourage conversation, debate, vocabulary building and collaborative working.

The progamme includes:

A teacher training session on using the visual literacy techniques, and the Laing's collections to develop oracy skills in the classroom
Five visual literacy sessions working with the teacher and pupils to explore artworks as a catalyst for discussion and debate, at the Laing or in-school, for a class of KS1 or KS2 pupils
Support in developing extension work resulting from the facilitated sessions
